Brief History of Casey's Corner

The Food Pantry is an outreach program of Murray Hills Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), an Oregon Nonprofit Corporation # 93-6042750.

The Pantry was started in 2005 by the Church Elders as a free food program to help our neighbors in need of food. Later it was named for Casey Leip, a church youth group member who was inspired to go door-to-door collecting canned food donations.

The pantry is an Agency Partner with the Oregon Food Bank, the primary source of our food supply and food purchased for the Kids' Healthy Food Program. The majority of our clients are referred to us with client shopping day appointments by Care to Share, a local nonprofit agency.

We also serve walk-ins with a food box at our regular pantry days of Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. In addition we provide school food boxes and food for assisted living staff workers.
